Hickory is one of the hardest and most durable domestic hardwoods, making it an excellent choice for high-traffic areas and pets. We have a 70lbs doodle named Goose, and we needed strong (yet BEAUTIFUL!) wood floors to keep up with those big paws!! When laid in a herringbone pattern, hickory’s naturally varied grain and color tones create a striking visual effect that combines a timeless elegance with bold character, which is exactly what we were looking for.
